Separation of Molar Weight-Distributed Polyethylene Glycols by Reversed-Phase Chromatography—II. Preparative Isolation of Pure Single Homologs

نویسندگان

چکیده

The isolation of single homologs polyethylene glycol by preparative reversed-phase chromatography is investigated. A thermodynamic model developed accurately previously describes the retention times individual as function their size, temperature, and mobile phase composition under linear, diluted conditions. extended to predict limiting for linear gradient operation in applications. Isocratic gradient-based separations are studied strongly overloaded Baseline separation up 3000 g/mol demonstrated. Quantitative production pure molar weights 1000 was performed using an automated setup.

Efficient biodegradation of high-molecular-weight polyethylene glycols by pure cultures of Pseudomonas stutzeri.

Biodegradation of polyethylene glycols (PEGs) of up to 13,000 to 14,000 molecular weight has been shown to be performed by a river water bacterial isolate (strain JA1001) identified as Pseudomonas stutzeri. A pure culture of strain JA1001 grew on PEG 1000 or PEG 10000 at 0.2% (wt/vol) as a sole source of carbon and energy with a doubling time of 135 or 150 min, respectively. Cultures metabolize...

The Role of Polyethylene Glycols Dissolved in Aqueous Phase on the Extraction-Separation of Zn(II) and Pb(II) by Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric Acid

The presented study describes the solvent extraction process of Zn(II) and Pb(II) from aqueous solutions by a cation exchanger extractant named bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (DEHPA). The results confirm that both of the extraction efficiency and extraction selectivity depend on the employed organic diluent. The applied extractant was selective towards zinc ions; this selectivity did not depe...

Microbial degradation of polyethylene glycols.

Mono-, di-, tri-, and tetraethylene glycols and polyethylene glycols (PEG) with molecular weight up to 20,000 were degraded by soil microorganisms. A strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa able to use a PEG of average molecular weight 20,000 was isolated from soil. Washed cells oxidized mono- and tetraethylene glycols, but O2 consumption was not detectable when such cells were incubated for short per...

Separation of Somatropin and Its Degradation Products by High-Performance Liquid Chromatography Using a Reversed-Phase Polymeric Column

The accurate prediction of protein stability is one of the most challenging goals in protein formulation and delivery. In this study, a gradient RP-HPLC method is described for the separation of human growth hormone (hGH) variants as deamidated and oxidized forms. The methodology employed a polymeric poly (styrene-co-divinylbenzene) column and a 1mL/min flow rate of a linear gradient of 0.1% v/...

Effect of Polyethylene Glycols Dissolved in Aqueous Phase on the Extraction-Separation of La(III), Eu(III) and Er(III) Ions with Bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric Acid

The present work concerns on the investigation of the role of polyethylene glycols (PEGs) as masking agent for amelioration of extraction-separation of La(III), Eu(III) and Er(III) ions by the acidic extractant bis(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (DEHPA). The studied solvent extraction system is based on the combination of chelating effect of DEHPA in the organic phase on the one hand, and the bin...
